Aim High Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
Ages 3-5 years
Students learn basic forms of movement and technique through imaginative games, songs, music and rhythmical patterns while learning how to foster independence. Students will be introduced to the concepts of body, energy, space, and time as well as encouraged to take direction from the instructor and share turns with peers.
Students will learn ballet concepts including turn out, coordination, spatial awareness and a specific focus on class etiquette. Technically students will begin positions of the feet and arms, and introductory movement vocabulary as well as French terminology and musicality.
Ages 8 and up
Students will build upon technique learned from Beg. Ballet as well as body alignment and muscle awareness. This class will focus on direction of the body and increased movement vocabulary.
Rachel believes that dance is a creative way to unite and inspire those of all ages. She is a St. Louis native and a student at Oral Roberts University. Currently, she is majoring in Ministry and Leadership with a minor in Dance. Rachel has been dancing for 17 years, and danced in the competition world for 6 years.
During her high-school career, she was co-captain and choreographer of BreakDown STL Dance Team, for two years. Rachel has received training in classical ballet, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, modern, tap, hip-hop, and tumbling.
Rachel has been blessed with the opportunity of performing with the Joffrey Ballet, Missouri Ballet, assisting Mel B (Melia Barnes) at the Showbiz dance convention, and has been awarded with “top 5 ballet dancers” at the Dupree Dance Convention.
Also, Rachel and her competitive small group were awarded with the national champion title(s), two years in a row, at the Showbiz National Dance Competition. Ultimately, Rachel is extremely grateful for every lesson Dance has taught her. She aspires to be a choreographer and dance teacher when she completes her studies at Oral Roberts.
